Here are some things that cropped up this week (in no particular order):
- Joseph Pisano's article: iPad apps for encouraging improvisation Useful ideas for group teaching and partnerships. Highlighted are jazz practice application: iRealB (I know at least that Josh Cameron and myself use this one) and Impaktor (potentially useful for music therapy clients).
- Lifehacker reviews Files an application used to manage files on iPad or iPhone.
- The National Association for Music Education will Tweet(@NAfME) a music ed fact every weekday for Music in our Schools Month (March). Feel free to inspect for truthiness.
- Will Richardson's latest article "Students First, Not Stuff" , Focuses on the learner, not the equipment.
- SoundMeter+ is an app that detects if the volume in the room is loud enough to damage your hearing. Potentially useful for Community Partnership teachers and other loud instrument teachers.
- You know you want one: iPad Stylus Review @ the Verge. Warning: there are many, many choices.
- Introduction to Music Production from Berklee College of Music begins today on Coursera.
